The Best Apps for Making Plans

Most of the biggest moments of our lives require a huge amount of planning; whether we're planning a move, a new job, a wedding, or a trip away. For all of these things we need to know exactly where we are, what we're going to be doing, and what we'll need to get there. Of course you can go the traditional route and just use a pen and paper, but for the utmost in organisation, getting things done and doing it without unnecessary mess and fuss, why not use an app? Here are some of our favourite apps for making plans.

The Best Apps for Making Plans

Trello

Will we ever stop touting the benefits of our buddy, Trello? Probably not! Trello is a catch all app for us, with room for lists, checklists, notes, attachments and everything else that we like to keep handy on a daily basis to keep ourselves organised. The app is free, compatible with most devices and an incredibly handy little tool. If you’re a list maker attempting to go digital, we urge you to try it.

iCal/Google Calendar

How will you ever make successful plans if you don’t know what day you’re free? iCal and Google Calendar are great apps to ensure you’re not double booking yourself, and they’re always right there with you, on your phone. Simply input whatever you’re up to into your calendar and you’ll never have to “check your diary “again!

Google Docs/Dropbox

For cloud storage, document integration and the ability to update live as people are editing things, Google Docs and Dropbox are fantastic for planning things like school or work projects, or for keeping hold of things like travel documents that other people might need to look at. After all, it’s easier them being able to head into Dropbox and take a look than having to call you every ten minutes, isn’t it?

WhatsApp

Communication is at the heart of all plans, so where would we be without our faithful friend WhatsApp? Giving you the opportunity to chat one to one, or get everyone together in a group chat, WhatsApp is unbeaten in our communication category! Especially if you’re planning a trip overseas, or working with a foreign colleague and need a form of communication that is slightly more efficient than email… give WhatsApp a go.
