Downloading from BitTorrent Directly to Cloud Storage

Downloading files, whether for entertainment or professional services, via BitTorrent is something we're all quite familiar with; but gone are the days of the static desktop set up, where downloading a file to a folder on your computer was enough. These days, the vast majority of us make use of a number of different devices in our day to day lives, so keeping our files in one place just isn't good enough. Well, fortunately you don't have to - Offcloud gives you the opportunity to download from BitTorrent directly into your cloud storage.

Downloading files, whether for entertainment or professional services, via BitTorrent is something we’re all quite familiar with; but gone are the days of the static desktop set up, where downloading a file to a folder on your computer was enough. These days, the vast majority of us make use of a number of different devices in our day to day lives, so keeping our files in one place just isn’t good enough. Well, fortunately you don’t have to – Offcloud gives you the opportunity to download from BitTorrent directly into your cloud storage.

Downloading directly to your personal cloud

This service allows you to bypass local BitTorrent clients, and download directly from BitTorrent to your personal cloud storage. All you need to do so is retrieve the link for the file you’re trying to download, and fetch it directly to the cloud storage of your choice.

Step 1: Choose your cloud storage option, and link the cloud storage account you would like to save your download to to your Offcloud account.

You can do this by going to “Account” on the left hand side of the screen, clicking on “Remote accounts”, and selecting the type of account you’d like to add, and then inputting the account information to authenticate the integration.

You will have the option to choose between FTP, Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon Cloud Drive and WebDAV.

Step 2: Copy the link of the torrent you want to download. Ours is just an example from “Legit Torrents”.

Step 3: Head over to the “Remote” tab on the left, paste your link into the box, and just press fetch. The media or files you’ve chosen to download will then download directly to your chosen cloud storage account.

That’s all there is to it! Your download will now show up in your chosen cloud storage. As we’ve used Dropbox as our example here, we’ll show you how it appears.

This method will work with whatever cloud storage option you choose, with the torrent you’ve chosen to download going directly into your cloud storage, without the need to first download it onto your computer. You can see the benefit of this almost immediately; with the vast majority of cloud storage services having mobile applications, desktop applications and their browser versions, downloading directly to cloud storage via Offcloud allows you to access the files you need instantly, without the hassle of having to transfer them from device to device.

Offcloud: for you, wherever you are

Alongside offering you the ability to download from BitTorrent directly to your chosen cloud storage, Offcloud has plenty of other features to give you the convenience you need, no matter where you are. We can instantly fetch and download content from the web, allowing you to store it with us, or a cloud storage option of your choice. We offer you a secure place to backup your items, files, software packages and entertainment too – allowing you to access the things you need wherever you are.
