3 Telltale Signs That People Trust the Cloud

Cloud services have been plagued with trust and security issues in the past. But did you hear the most recent news? This October has been an exciting month for Amazon, Microsoft and Google. Cloud services have been plagued with trust and security issues in the past. But did you hear the most recent news? This October has been an exciting month for Amazon, Microsoft and Google. These technology giants have been busy with expansion plans to outdo each other in capitalizing on the newfound trust that people have in the cloud.

According to Brandon Butler, Senior Editor at networkworld.com, “Throughout the month of October, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform have all announced plans to build out new regions for their Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud operations.”

When these three giant technology companies are at it again, you know there is going to be a huge movement in the market soon. And this movement to the cloud is a welcome shift, as more and more people are getting comfortable with it, demanding more and more services from it.

How comfortable? Here are three telltale signs that people are trusting the cloud more and more even with their most valuable possessions. Risky, but true.

1. They manage their passwords in the cloud.
We all know that the privacy issue that surrounds the cloud still remains to be one of the top reasons why people fully embraced the cloud. Yet, on the other hand, many are eager to store their most valuable and delicate information with 1Password, Keepass and RoboForm for convenience, and hopefully security and protection.

2. They explore their innermost thoughts in the cloud.
People are so busy nowadays that they have no time to pause and reflect. Instead, they use tools like Evernote, Mindmeister, and Wunderlist to keep working while they are on the go. They record and remember, create and conceptualize using the cloud. It would not be a surprise if many great innovative ideas are born in the cloud.

3. They collate their most precious memories and favorite things in the cloud.
People have used DropBox, GoogleDrive, SugarSync, and OffCloud to store their favorite (and sometimes, private) photos, videos and music. It is probably one of the most common uses of the cloud. Its ability to sync everything and have them readily available 24/7 is something that most people cannot live without anymore.

With all that wealth of information stored in the cloud, we can only imagine how much power it can give to those who have access to it. These giant technology firms will surely fight for cloud domination to mine that wealth. Because in this digital age, information is the most important currency.

What about you? Will you trust these giants in the cloud with that much personal wealth?
