Last year, 2016, was hailed as, “The Age of Virtual Reality Gadgets.” Of course, the age of virtual reality (VR) is upon us with a torrent of gadgets released in 2016 alone. And even more are expected to be released this year! The idea of VR is not new to us. We’ve seen that years go in sci-fi films. But it’s only recently that a breakthrough happened when VR gadgets were released to the public by the top VR Companies. Let’s check out the top three VR Gadget today…

Oculus Rift

The released of the Oculus Rift or Oculus VR Headset Space heads the release of VR devices. It was first launched as a Kickstarter project. It was eventually acquired by Facebook. The system comprises a headset that is loaded with sensors. It offers a display for each eye as well as integrated headphones. Naturally, it also comes with a camera to add more movement detection information.

To fully enjoy the Oculus Rift you need to have an Xbox One controller prior, with bespoke Oculus Touch controllers. Plus, you also need a high-spec computer to run Oculus Rift that is not included in the Oculus Rift Kit. Thus, if you really want to maximize enjoyment with this breakthrough gadget, you better get your whole system set up properly.

HTC Vive

Just like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive also needs a high-spec computer to run it. This VR system lets you roam around your room while using infrared sensors to map out your location. So prepare a bigger space if you truly want to toy around with this gadget.

The headset integrates a range of sensors and you have to wear additional headphones to maximize the experience. You can experience a wide range of different environments like climbing Mt. Everest, going to the Mediterranean Sea and many other breathtaking locations. Unfortunately, enjoying the HTC Vive with its extensions can be very expensive.

Sony PlayStation VR

Sony PSVR is strictly not a VR system. Rather, it is an accessory for the PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro. Still, the Sony PSVR uses the same technology like the ones used in Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The difference is its lower screen resolution compared to the two other VR gadgets. It tracks your head movements and uses the PlayStation camera, in tandem with your regular PS4 controller. With its lower screen resolution, it’s also priced much lower than the other two gadgets. However, it is more than enough to get your VR time filled up with adventures!

It wasn’t long ago that we witnessed the possibilities of VR in sci-fi Hollywood films. Now, VR has finally become a reality (pun intended!). Now we’ll know what our sci-fi superheroes must have felt like. VR is already here. And with it, lots of opportunities for business, education, and entertainment. You must try out these gadgets and experience it for yourself!
