Email is not yet going away soon. Whether for personal or business purposes, we still use emails to stay connected, stay informed, and be on top of our tasks and responsibilities. Email is not yet going away for now. Whether for personal or business purposes, we still use emails to stay connected, stay informed, and be on top of our tasks and responsibilities. But with several electronic bills, subscription newsletters, email courses, unsolicited sales letters and whatnot, it is easy to drown in our Inbox and get all stressed out!

Aside from constantly deleting old emails, try this simple solution to make sure you get only the most important emails, swiftly go through and take action for important ones, and have a clean, clutter-free and stress-free looking Inbox in no time!

The Four-Way Floodgate

  1. The “No Email” Gate

We know we just said email is important. But there are alternative ways to communicate. Limit your short personal communications, those that you don’t need to file and keep track closely, to Facebook Messenger, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, etc. The more you send out emails, the more you receive emails back. So use less emails.

  1. The “Unsubscribe” Gate

Next, you need to stop all those incoming emails from flooding your inbox. Let’s admit it. We’ll never be able to read all those anyway. Your precious time is better spent on spending more quality time with your core business and your family. So go through all those and click “Unsubscribe” or mark as spam.

  1. The “No Notifications” Gate

If you are getting too many notifications, try jumping into the sites that sent them. Uncheck or deselect the “receive notifications via email” option. It takes a few minutes of your time, but it will make a big difference. Or, if you still want to receive them through email, set up some filters and rerouting so these notifications go to a specific folders other than your Inbox that you can check back later on.

  1. The “Fast Processing” Gate

Reply to emails fast in as little as 3-5 sentences. Pay bills at once or have them auto-debited or auto-charged to your credit card so you can prevent those electronic bills stagnating in your Inbox. Download and save any attachment like documents, music, photos and videos directly to Google Drive or Offcloud so you can delete the emails.

Once you have installed the floodgates, you will begin to see results soon and enjoy a cleaner looking Inbox. The only challenge is to be disciplined enough to keep it that way. So spend little time thinking and more time taking actions. If you need options for your files storage, check this out…
