Your “On the Go” Tech Kit
Pretty much everyone has a smartphone these days, and they’re a good investment! Indeed, if you didn’t want/need to take anything else with you at all, you could just take your phone and have everything you need to still be productive. We don’t know about you, but our phone’s always in the bag.
Maybe an odd recommendation, but we think a tablet is an excellent catch-all for everything you might want to do while you’re out, and it lets you keep your phone battery full for those important phone calls. Whether you want to read a book, listen to music, or watch something while you’re waiting for something, you can do all that on your tablet!
We used to take a wireless keyboard out with us to use on the tablet, but since getting into using smaller laptops and Chromebooks, we find they just do the job 100% better. If you’re the type of person who likes to work outside, or finds their self getting creative on the fly, then taking out something to get it done with is perfect for you! Smaller sized laptops and Chromebooks tend to have excellent batteries, and you can use a wireless keyboard for hours on end without needing a battery refresh.
These are a bit of a must. Allowing you to work without distraction, take in the media you’ve taken out with you, and even calm yourself down if you have some anxiety issues, they’re a definite must in your bag. The ones that come with your phone are fine, or if you’re a headphone enthusiast, you can invest in some fancy ones!
You can get a charger with a single charge, or multiple charges but either way they’re handy in a pinch. We have a small credit card sized single charger that just sits in the wallet waiting to be used with multiple connectors so no matter what needs charging, you can do it in a pinch! You can pick these up affordably, too, so there’s no need for them to cost the earth.
Of course, if you’re going to be carrying around this stuff with you (although it could be a little excessive, we just like to cover our bases!) you’ll need a good backpack to put it all in to keep it safe and let you keep your hands free. There are lots out there with compartments for different devices, or just a simple one pocket one will do fine.
