Great free online tools

XE

There’s always an occasion where you’ll need to find out what some obscure currency equates to in your own currency, and for that, XE is your best bet. It’s one of the most comprehensive currency converters out there, covering a huge number of currencies from different countries. The bonus here being that it takes only a few seconds to convert your query, and then you’re good to go.

There’s also a mobile version for use on the go.

Zedge

For the ultimate in mobile phone customisation (and tablets, if you fancy), take a look at Zedge. It has pretty much everything you could ever need to make your phone a bit more fancy (unless you’ve got an iPhone… because customisation is slim no matter where you look for those). You can also upload your own designs/ringtones/whatever, and the community aspect is handy if you need help with anything.

PicMonkey

Photo editing made simple. PicMonkey has a free version, and a very reasonably priced “Royale” version which gives you access to some of the more advanced, and let’s face it, fun, features. PicMonkey is in browser based, and is incredibly easy to use. It allows you to edit your pictures, create new designs and is a great place to start for budding photo-editors.

Pixabay

Royalty free images without an extortionate price tag can be a little hard to come by, especially if you’re looking for images of a certain standard that are all good quality. Pixabay bridges the gap between Royalty Free images, and those that are of an exceptional standard and really works well considering you don’t need to pay a penny to use them. We use Pixabay images all the time here on the blog, and as you can see, they’re absolutely brilliant!

While the range isn’t as expansive as, say, Shutterstock, there is still a good number of images to choose from.

Wordcounter

Wordcounter is a great, browser based tool for counting your words. Not only that, but it’ll also calculate your keywords for you, let you see plenty of statistics based upon your writing, and allows you to copy text both into, and out of the software.

Whether you’re writing a blog post, an essay, or anything else, Wordcounter could prove itself to be a pretty darn good tool.

Offcloud, your cloud-based download manager
