Software for Computer Hoppers

Google Docs

If you use a lot of word processing and similar programmes, then Google Docs is an ideal piece of software to get to grips with. Calling is software is slightly misleading, however, given that it is entirely browser based. Despite this, all you need to use it is your own Google account, and an Internet connection. Once you’re signed in, as soon as you start typing everything will sync to the cloud, and be readily available and accessible on whichever device you choose to make use of.

Dropbox/Offcloud/Other Cloud Storage

If you’re not using Google Docs and are sticking to something open source, such as Open Office or Libre Office, then a reliable cloud storage account is essential for your computer hopping ways. These accounts enable you to simply upload your documents, information or whatever else you’re using into the cloud, to access on the majority of other mobile devices, no matter where you are.

Microsoft Office & One Drive

A match made in heaven is Microsoft Office and One Drive. You can set your settings to automatically sync anything you save in Microsoft Office to One Drive, which then makes it available to you whenever you login on another Windows device. Because this process is all automatic, it makes it slightly more cohesive than any of the other combinations we’ve mentioned – although Microsoft Office is a paid service, it’s well worth it.

Spotify

A little bit of background noise and entertainment never hurt anybody while they were working, and since Spotify works both in your browser and on downloadable applications, it’s the perfect thing to take along with you, no matter what device you’re working on. Whether you’ve got a free or a paid subscription, you’ll have plenty of tunes to listen to to get you through your working day.
