Productivity on the Go: Easy Business Admin for the Self Employed

There's nothing quite like that on the go productivity. The feeling of getting things done no matter where you are or what you're doing, and the ability to get home and know that all your niggling tasks have been taken care of for the day. This includes your business administration, if you're a self-employed person, or entrepreneur! It's one of those things that has to be done, but not something we necessarily enjoy doing. Today we're going to be talking about those little tasks you can take care of on the go, and some tips to help you do so.

The feeling of getting things done no matter where you are or what you’re doing, and the ability to get home and know that all your niggling tasks have been taken care of for the day. This includes your business administration, if you’re a self-employed person, or entrepreneur! It’s one of those things that has to be done, but not something we necessarily enjoy doing. Today we’re going to be talking about those little tasks you can take care of on the go, and some tips to help you do so.

Productivity on the Go!

  • Take care of your emails, and other client communication. If you’ve got an email sitting in your inbox and you can take care of it while out and about, do so! Just put together a quick reply and hit send, avoiding that pesky build up of emails that will take hours to get through.
  • Put the receipts in your bag in date order, and make a note on a mobile spreadsheet. You could use the mobile version of Excel or Google docs to do this. If you’re waiting in a queue or are on a public transport journey with nothing else to do, popping your expenses onto a spreadsheet will save you loads of time when it comes time to submit your books.
  • Put together your to-do lists and prioritise. You can do this by using various apps, or even just the Notes in your phone or a pen and paper. Just make a list of what you need to get done, and prioritise what needs to be taken care of first. You’ll be able to dive straight in when you come to get back to work.
  • Update your website or social media. Many of us rely on our websites and social media accounts to get clients and keep people updated about our website. Use your down time to quickly update your social media profile or website and increase engagement, or offer something informational to the people who follow you.
