YouTube is full of tutorials on a huge range of things; from bookmaking to blending eyeshadow. If you’re just learning to gain a little bit of knowledge, or learn a new skill, then YouTube is the place for you. You can learn from a whole range of people, from people who are learning themselves, to those who are now experts – and it’s all completely free! Give it a quick search, and see if you can find something that you’d love to learn.
Lynda.com is the place to go for expert tutorials on pretty much everything digital that you could ever think of. There are business tutorials, image editing tutorials and plenty more to choose from. It is a paid service, but the rate is incredibly affordable and the lessons are broken down into small, easy to digest tutorials that you can watch as many times as you like until you’ve cracked what you want to learn!
There are a number of universities which offer correspondence courses across long distances, and these are brilliant if you want to achieve a proper qualification, and if you’re looking to embrace a change of career. These will require a lot of research to make sure that the institution is legitimate, and that the qualification is accredited so you’re not wasting both your time and your money. This is going to be a long term commitment, so definitely give it a lot of thought before deciding.
Many places also offer free mini courses, so a quick Google for free mini courses could well turn up some great results that you’ll benefit from without a huge commitment – and they might even prove to be fun to do with your friends. If you’re the type of person who finds teaching yourself to be relatively easy, then learning via an online qualification or teaching yourself from a tutorial is a brilliant idea.
