New year 2019 and beyond
If you haven't heard it from us already, we wish you a happy new year. We've been quite busy working on our product throughout those first three, four months. We are delighted to announce several updates.
The most significant work we’ve achieved lately is to deploy many improvements to our BitTorrent engine. It can now work much faster. It keeps all downloads in the cache for several days, and it also has longer, dynamic retention for most demanded files, thereby allowing it to cache more files and fetch them instantaneously.
We also implemented or fixed support for many highly demanded sources, such as Katfile, Florenfile, Dailymotion, Soundcloud, Novafile, Uploadgig and Rapidgator. In complement to that, we’ve improved performance for uploading data to Google Drive and Dropbox. We hope it further enhances the experience with Offcloud that you can upload remotely any file found on the web, including BitTorrent, directly to your cloud storage solution.
Another important thing we did was to increase the performance of our backend services. Our proxy network is more extensive, allowing us to catch more blocked files. We tweaked and added more calls to our APIs, with Gaia and other integrations being updated soon with better performance.
Last but not least, we implemented new features and new user interface improvements. Our table view is user friendlier. It lets you add new download processes and handle more batch operations such as remote uploading of cloud-downloaded files. We also improved the interface for AdBlock users and implemented support for Icerbox and Takefile.link files.
As you can see, we’ve been quite busy making Offcloud better. And we’re currently working on a completely revised user interface with a mobile-first vision to set the path for a new pricing structure set to enter later this year. We hope you appreciate these continuous efforts to make Offcloud the best solution to download or backup any data found on the web.
