Media Software You Need
With more and more media formats being introduced to the world of entertainment every year, it's hard for the default software that comes on PCs and laptops to keep up the support. So do we abandon particular file types and just stick to those that we know are supported by the default software? No, of course not! We go on the hunt for great media software that's compatible with some of the more obscure file types, allowing us to watch or listen to whatever we fancy. Here are some of the best media software packages that you need to try.

We go on the hunt for great media software that’s compatible with some of the more obscure file types, allowing us to watch or listen to whatever we fancy. Here are some of the best media software packages that you need to try.
Media software that you need to try
CCCP is a codec pack, that comes bundled with a media player to allow you to view a huge range of media formats that you might not be able to view without the additional codec. What this does is gives your computer the facilities that it needs to increase compatibility with a greater number of file types – good news for serial downloaders!
VLC Media Player
VLC Media Player does everything that CCCP does, all in one. Like the codec pack, it allows you to increase your computer’s compatibility with more obscure file types, meaning you’ll be able to download and actually use whatever you want without having to worry about compatibility. Unfortunately, VLC is pretty RAM heavy, so you’ll need to keep an eye on that and maybe only use it if your computer is quite powerful. Otherwise, opt for CCCP.
This is software created by Apple, which is also compatible with Microsoft PCs and gives users the opportunity to access different file types than you might be able to with your default software. It’s not going to give you as wide a range of support as CCCP or VLC Media Player, but it will give you more options than the default iMac software, and absolutely more than Windows since not even Windows Media Player comes as standard on Windows 10 devices.
If all else fails… Stream
If all else fails and you can’t find any software that you want to use, then just settle for streaming! Streaming is a brilliant, affordable way to enjoy media on your devices, with the vast majority of streaming services giving you the option to download items to your portable devices to make use of when you’re out and about without having to use your mobile data. Of course, this isn’t ideal, but it does save you having you download media straight away onto your computer.
