5 Things you can do With Cloud Storage

Here at Offcloud, we're big fans of cloud storage and think it's an incredibly useful tool for all those who make use of what it has to offer. Not only is it a way to back up important documents in case your computer decides it doesn't want to work anymore, but it's a handy thing to keep hold of for anyone on the move fairly often.

Here at Offcloud, we’re big fans of cloud storage and think it’s an incredibly useful tool for all those who make use of what it has to offer. Not only is it a way to back up important documents in case your computer decides it doesn’t want to work anymore, but it’s a handy thing to keep hold of for anyone on the move fairly often.

While we’re sure you’re familiar with some of the ideas we’re about to tell you, if you’re new to cloud storage then perhaps you haven’t quite realised its full potential – and that’s what we’re sharing with you today! Here are five things you can do with cloud storage that you may not already know.

5 Things You Can Do With Cloud Storage

1. Create a Secure Backup
Whether you’re working on a personal or professional project, you need to have at least one backup (although ideally two or three) to protect against any technology malfunction or human error. Putting one of these backups on cloud storage gives it a place to sit and be safe from any technological issues.

2. Transport your Stuff
If you’re out and about and find yourself needing to show someone a part of your project, then an upload in cloud storage is incredibly handy. You can access it then and there from your mobile phone and just show whatever needs to be seen. Much easier than needing to remember to email it over when you get home!

3. Create your Media Centre
If you’ve got a cloud storage area with plenty of space, you can create your own media centre right there in the cloud. Upload (or even direct download) all your favourite TV shows, movies and music and keep it right there for whenever you fancy watching or listening to something.

4. Collaborate
As we just mentioned, having to remember to email something over to a colleague or friend can be problematic when you’ve got a busy schedule, but having whatever you’re working on uploaded to a cloud storage space means they can just have a look at the project, leave any memos and take whatever notes they need without really needing to involve you too much. Ease of collaboration is a wonderful thing!

5. Serve as a memory box
Both for yourself and friends and family. Whether you’re uploading individual photos or creating a slideshow from various images, you can pop these photos into cloud storage and give people access to it so they can see what you’ve created and benefit from a wonderful memory box that they’ll adore.
