Best Ported Games on Mobile

If you love games but find you hardly get the time to play them, then what you need in your life are mobile games! Mobile games sometimes get the reputation of being poorly made, full of ads and just a repetition of the last game you played, but that isn't always the case. These days, there are lots of games that were once PC and console games that have been ported into mobile and tablet form, allowing you to play the games you love in the style you prefer, directly from your mobile! Here are some of our favourites.

The Best Ported Games on Mobile

XCOM Enemy Unknown & Enemy Within

These games can be a little tricky to find in your mobile store, but if you know where to look then you’ll be able to find them! These are brilliant ports, with full mobile compatibility and the full game there and ready to play. These squad based strategy games are all the entertainment you’ll need on any journey, and the controls are well done enough that you won’t find it a pain in the neck to play on your mobile rather than on your PC or console.

Final Fantasy (Pretty much all of them!)

Is there even a single person who hasn’t played Final Fantasy? Probably not! If you happen to find someone who hasn’t yet played one of the iconic JRPGs, then just whip out your phone and give them a go! Of course, there are a few that aren’t available on mobile, 14 for example, but if you can get people interested in the series, they’ll probably play along anyway! The ports are pretty good, with decent controls and all the immersion that you’d usually expect from any FF game – give them a go.

Baldur’s Gate

With old school, Dungeons and Dragons style rules and game play, this RPG is one that many of us think of fondly. A recent mobile port with cross platform compatibility has brought Baldur’s Gate to the forefront of our minds once again, and we’re loving playing it on mobile! If you were ever a fan of the game, or simply prefer older style RPG games, give the port a go!

Grand Theft Auto (Three, Vice City and San Andreas)

You’ve probably already heard about the GTA ports, but they are well worth looking at if you haven’t done so already! Of course the controls are a little different but the games retain their highly unique charm and gameplay style. As yet, only three are available as mobile ports, but there will probably be more available in the future should these continue to sell well.
